How to Stay Grateful in the Midst of Turmoil
On “Ask a Survivor,” clergy abuse survivor Faith Hakesley discusses how to remain grateful even in tough times.
There are a lot of negative things happening in our world, but it’s still possible to focus on growing in gratitude while fighting for justice and truth to prevail.
There is such a lack of gratitude in this country. We live in a “me, myself, and I” culture. On a daily basis we see this lack of gratitude all around us. In a recent Washington Times article, Don Feder sums it up best:
We’re losing Thanksgiving because we’ve lost a sense of the Divine. As more and more Americans become secular, we’re becoming a people who’ve forgotten how to say thank you — not just to God, but to each other. But it starts with God.
Let’s make it a point to work on improving this! We can start by incorporating gratitude into our own lives on a regular basis. Remember that gratitude isn’t something to save only for “the big stuff.” We develop an “attitude of gratitude” by appreciating every good thing in life and thanking God even for the small things.
Pediatric Endocrinologist Explains All Things Trans, Part 2
In the latest Dr. J Show, Dr. Quentin Van Meter, President of the American College of Pediatricians, continues his discussion with Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse about Florida’s ruling to not allow Medicaid to pay for transgender interventions for minors. Dr. Van Meter was one of the experts whose testimony lead the Florida medical board to conclude that these transgender procedures are not only unhelpful, they’re actually harmful.
Gender dysphoria “is a mental health issue,” Van Meter explains. “They’re suffering from the woes of being incongruent. They blame it on society. The reality is, they can’t accept themselves internally. It’s not the world against them. It’s themselves against themselves … . They think they’ll feel better in the body of the opposite sex, and they often do for a little while, but ten years out, they realize they’re no better off and are actually worse off.”
Learn what puberty blockers were originally developed for versus what they’re being used for now. Today’s usage is particularly dangerous for girls because it robs them of essential calcium for bone development, leading to bone fractures and severe osteoporosis. Also, when you start a patient on puberty blockers, their fertility doesn’t get to develop, so “you’re basically sterilizing the patient right then and there.”

Van Meter explains how these kids get on a conveyor belt, starting with puberty blockers then cross-sex hormones. The mental evaluation is basically: “can you tell reality from non-reality? Then you’re fine. We’ll deal with any underlying mental health anxiety or distress issues later.”
Also, hear Van Meter speak about his experience treating babies with “intersex” traits. He also shares the horrifying story of Dr. John Money who ran Johns Hopkins Gender Clinic, the first to perform sex change surgeries on infants and adults until it was shut down. Learn Dr. Van Meter’s personal experience working with Dr. Money, a terrible man whom transgenders now consider a hero.
Schumer’s Labor Shortage Plan is an Insult to Our Intelligence
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., suggests amnesty for illegal immigrants to solve our labor shortage problem. “That’s an insult to our intelligence,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.
Schumer said, “We’re short of workers. We have a population that’s not reproducing on its own with the same level it used to.”
“Yes, and who’s to blame for our demographic disaster?” Morse asked. “The U.S. fertility rate is down to 1.64, with 2.1 needed to replace current population. That’s quite a fall from 3.5 in the 1950s.”
“If Americans aren’t reproducing at the rate they used to, you can blame the Sexual Revolution,” she said. “We’ve lost 63 million since Roe v. Wade. But we’re also losing the descendants those aborted children would have had.”
“Thanks to the Sexual Revolution devaluing marriage, the marriage rate has also plummeted. In 1960, 45% of adults in their prime childbearing years were married, compared to 9% today. Those who marry are doing so later in life, and many are voluntarily childless.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce called the labor shortage “a national crisis.”
“That’s a crisis that won’t be solved by encouraging migrants to come here illegally,” Morse noted, “but by Americans marrying and having children of their own.”
“Ironically, Sen. Schumer’s party favors abortion up to the moment of birth, and the only kind of marriage it supports is same-sex marriage. Its absurdly misnamed Respect for Marriage Act would codify the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision, mandating gay marriage nationwide.”
“Clearly, this isn’t the way to boost fertility, but to benefit LGBTQ activists, one of the Democrats’ core constituencies.”
“Sen. Schumer should rethink his ‘solution.’”
