Hillary Clinton Gets Caught (Again) in Harassment Hypocrisy
The New York Times reported on Friday that Hillary Clinton in 2008 kept a male adviser on staff who was credibly charged with sexually harassing a female co-worker. Senior campaign advisers had strongly urged her to fire him, but she chose not to do so.
In response to the article, Clinton has tweeted,
A story appeared today about something that happened in 2008. I was dismayed when it occurred, but was heartened the young woman came forward, was heard, and had her concerns taken seriously and addressed.

and
I called her today to tell her how proud I am of her and to make sure she knows what all women should: we deserve to be heard.

But even The Times has raised questions about how seriously the woman’s concerns were taken.
The Allegations and the Response
The charges appear to be well supported, according to the article in The Times. Burns Strider, Clinton’s senior “faith adviser,” was sharing an office with an unnamed 30-year-old woman. The woman “told a campaign official that Mr. Strider had rubbed her shoulders inappropriately, kissed her on the forehead and sent her a string of suggestive emails.” The emails reportedly included one sent during the night. Strider was married at the time.
Clinton’s campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, took the complaint to Clinton, urging that Strider be fired. Clinton kept him on her staff for several months, however. He was finally let go in a “staff shake-up” following her poor results in the Iowa caucuses.
Strider was docked several weeks’ pay, according to Newsweek. He was also ordered to seek counseling — a mandate with which he did not comply, according to The Times.
Five years after these events Strider was hired to lead Correct the Record, an independent group created by Clinton ally David Brock to support Clinton’s 2016 campaign for president. This was in spite of “a number of advisers” advising Clinton over the years to sever ties with him, according to The Times.
The woman was re-assigned to another position where she would not have interactions with Strider.
Who is Burns Strider?
Burns Strider has also served as a senior adviser to Nancy Pelosi. He heads the American Values Network, “tackling the most pressing moral issues of our time.” Strider has written at least five articles for Sojourners, a left-leaning group whose claims to represent contemporary Christianity have come under criticism at The Stream and elsewhere. The Chicago Tribune identifies him as having “long been part of a group of Democrats pushing candidates to speak more about their faith.”
Clinton Coming Under Fire
The Times’s requests for comments from Strider, Clinton and others involved in the campaign were all declined.
Hillary Clinton has come under severe criticism for her tepid response to the charges against Strider at the time. Tweets compiled by The Blaze include this, from Jim Geraghty of National Review:
"We are taking your complaint about your office-mate sexually harassing you seriously; that's why we're making you move to a different office." https://t.co/U7x3yRdTdJ

S.E. Cupp of HLN TV placed it in context of Clinton’s earlier inaction on sexual harassment:
For many in my generation, @HillaryClinton is the start of #metoo. Watching her stand by a man who abused his power and sexually harass women opened many of our eyes. #timesup to #womanup and say @TIMESUPNOW.

Meanwhile, it appears credible that Clinton is guilty of felonies relating to the Clinton Foundation and to her unprotected email server. Liberal media have been slow to keep up with news on those matters. It’s almost as if she could do no wrong. This, however, seems to have caught their attention. As it should, along with the rest.
