Focus on the Family to Host Pro-Life Event in NYC, Broadcast Live 4-D Ultrasounds of Preborn Babies on Jumbotrons
'We’re prayerfully hoping this will call greater attention to the plight of the preborn.'
Start spreading the news, as a certain ode to New York City goes.
Focus on the Family is hosting a major pro-life event in Times Square on May 4th called “Alive in New York.” A 12-week campaign called “See Life Clearly” will lead up to the event. On that date, in one of world’s most iconic locations, the organization will broadcast live ultrasounds of babies in the womb.
Focus on the Family is calling on pro-life Americans to fill Times Square for the occasion. “It will feature live music, compelling and inspirational speakers.” Best of all, they will broadcast live 4-D ultrasounds on a digital marquee. The Christian organization hopes to show the world that “a baby inside the womb is fully human and should be given the chance to be born.”
‘It is a Child and We Want Everybody to See It’
“With the 4-D technology that we have, it looks like a picture of a 1 year old,” Focus on the Family’s president Jim Daly told CBN News. “There is no way a person is going to be able to say, ‘That is not a child.’ It is a child and we want everybody to see it.”
Pro-abortion politicians likely haven’t seen a 4-D ultrasound of a third-trimester pregnancy. “To be able to … say, ‘Here’s a picture of a third-trimester pregnancy. Look at the definition. These children are viable outside the womb. These children are already fully human.’ To do it in such a way that we can all peer into the womb and see what that child looks like, developmentally and every other way — what an awesome sight to see. These politicians will have to defend their position.”
A Response to New York and VA Gov. Northam
Daly explained that the recent New York law permitting abortion until birth prompted a response. So did Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s comments about abortion. “In the aftermath of the egregious New York legislation … and the Virginia governor endorsing infanticide, we’re prayerfully hoping this will call greater attention to the plight of the preborn.”
That the organization selected New York to hold the event was not chance. “Times Square is known as ‘The Crossroads of the World’ and we’re at a crossroad as a nation regarding life. Do we really want to be part of the Abortion Axis of Evil? … China, North Korea and Vietnam [allow] abortion for any reason after 20 weeks. We’re hearing from people all over the country who are disgusted by the blatant disregard for life. Enough is enough!”
‘Every Life is Made in the Image of God’
“It’s our hope that after seeing these videos in Times Square, people will have no doubt that every life is made in the image of God. It’s our prayer that “Alive From New York” will be an event used to help change hearts and minds regarding life.”
