Florida Cop Rescues Dog So Adorable He Has to Adopt Him
A Florida sheriff’s deputy rescued a dog so cute he couldn’t help but adopt him. St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Glover was on a routine assignment and heard a dog whimpering. When he investigated, this is what he found.
Glover called his colleague James Gettings to help. Gettings used a catch pole to pull the golden retriever mix out from a collapsed septic drain that had formed a deep puddle.
“He had been balancing on his back legs to keep his head above the water,” Gettings told Officer.com. “I don’t know how long he had been in there. His hind legs weren’t working once we pulled him out.”
“Recently, deputies were serving civil process paperwork to a home in Fort Pierce,” the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook. “While leaving the house, they heard a dog whimpering. During a search of the neighboring vacant lot, they found a puppy who had fallen into a collapsed septic drain. Scared and exhausted, they pulled him out, gave him several baths and attempted to locate an owner in the neighborhood. Not finding anyone, the pooped pooch was adopted by the deputy that rescued him and is now enjoying a life in the lap of luxury.”
Gettings decided to adopt the dog, who he calls “Puddles.”
