Fighting for Counseling Freedom for Those Who Wish to Leave the LGBT Subculture
Dr. Mike Davidson is the Chairman of the International Foundation for Therapeutic and Counseling Choice, which promotes the option of therapy for clients seeking help for unwanted sexual feelings, attractions and behaviors. He also co-directs X-Out-Loud, which celebrates those who found freedom from unwanted homosexual desires and gender confusion.
In this episode of The Dr. J Show, Dr. Davidson and Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse discuss what he calls, βthe audacity of individuals saying that people will be harmed if they move away from unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion.β He knows many, many people who have left the LGBT subculture and are happier and healthier as a result.
He points out that: βJust about in every aspect of life, we highly value autonomy, but in the area of counseling people who are struggling with their sexual identity, all of a sudden itβs the therapists, or in other contexts, itβs the politician, who makes the decisions about what you can and cannot do,β Davidson says.
βThis is not a terrain in which there is balanced debate … Itβs almost as though one viewpoint has become the judge, the jury, and the executioner.β

Gratitude in the Midst of Turmoil
By Faith Hakesley at βAdvice From a Survivorβ
We donβt have to look far to find something negative happening in our world today. However, despite a lot of things not going the right way or the way we wish they would, it is possible to focus on growing in gratitude while still fighting for justice and truth to prevail.

Itβs easy to be thankful when life is easy. When things get challenging, being grateful becomes more difficult. Itβs important that we choose to turn our eyes back on God and live in gratitude for his many blessings.
We live in a βme, myself, and Iβ culture, which grossly neglects gratitude. In a recent Washington Times article, Don Feder sums it up best:
Weβve lost a sense of the Divine. As more and more Americans become secular, weβre becoming a people whoβve forgotten how to say thank you β not just to God, but to each other. But it starts with God.
Support the Ruth Institute Campaign to Fight Against Worldwide Therapy Bans
Therapy bans throughout the United States and in countries around the world are largely based on the testimony of one man: Sam Brinton.
Sam claimed he was subjected to psychological and physical torture to overcome his homosexual tendencies. He spoke about this at the United Nations Committee Against Torture. He was the poster child of the movement to ban any kind of counseling that addresses unwanted same-sex attraction.
But hereβs the thing: according to an expert, he made it up.
Susan Constantine, a world-renowned expert on deception, examined Samβs testimonies. She and her team conducted a careful three-part analysis of his speech patterns, voice tremors and body language. She concluded that he was βhighly deceptive.β She noted his subtle smirk that signals quote βduping delight.β That is, he takes pleasure in lying and seeing people fall for it.
One thing Ms. Constantine did say he was truthful about, was being emotionally and verbally abused by his father.
The Ruth Institute feels compassion for the many people who experience same-sex attraction and would like counseling, especially when it comes to dealing with trauma that may have induced the feelings in the first place. Making such therapy illegal is unjust to these wounded souls, including perhaps, Sam Brinton himself.
