Praying Over the President: Evangelical Leaders Gathered in Oval Office Monday
President Donald Trump was surrounded by prayer Monday.
Members of the President’s Faith Council gathered around Trump for prayer in the Oval Office. Vice President Mike Pence and members of Trump’s family also received prayer.
Among those in attendance were Jack Graham, pastor of Texas’ Prestonwood Baptist Church, Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas, former Southern Baptist Convention president Ronnie Floyd, Johnnie Moore of the KAIROS company and Paula White-Cain, pastor of Florida’s New Destiny Christian Center.
Stream publisher James Robison, president of LIFE Outreach International, is a member of the Council but could not attend because of recent eye surgery. He will be interviewing Graham about Monday’s prayer meeting. Watch for that interview to be published later this week.
The Daily Mail reported about the prayer meeting Wednesday. Several attendees have posted about it on social media.
Moore shared the photo of Trump surrounded in prayer that topped Wednesday’s Drudge Report. He called it “an honor” to pray for the president and vice president. They prayed for supernatural wisdom, guidance and protection.

Moore told CNN prayers for Trump were offered “within the context of a real relationship, of true friendship,” the Mail reported. “He was as strong and focused as I have ever seen him,” Moore added.
Retweeting photo, Graham asked others to pray for Trump and Pence as well.
