Dozens of Phone Calls With Joe? Former Hunter Biden Business Partner and BFF Devon Archer Set to Spill to Congress
Devon Archer is going to testify before the House Oversight Committee this week, and boy does he have a story to tell. Who is Devon Archer? He is Hunter Biden’s former business partner and BFF.
The New York Post broke a bombshell story Monday that Archer is set to testify that Hunter put then-VP Joe Biden on the phone at least two dozen times with their business associates. And Joe also met personally with potential foreign business clients.
This flies not only directly in the face of Biden’s long-standing denials that he never talked business with his son, it shreds the new White House line that Biden was never “in business” with Hunter. It’s one thing if Hunter was in the clothing business and wanted to impress people by getting pops on the horn. It’s another thing if his business is selling access and you get the VP, the Big Guy, on the phone or at the table.
Burisma Needs “Our Support” … They Got It
Particularly interesting is a meeting in Dubai involving two Burisma executives, owner Mykola Zlochevsky and senior executive Vadym Pozharskyi. (Why are those names familiar? They’re the two figures who, according to a confidential FBI source, detailed the alleged $10 million bribery scheme involving the former VP and his son.)
According to the NY Post, Archer — a Burisma board member himself — will testify Pozharskyi asked Hunter, “Can you ring your dad?” Hunter called the Vice President, introduced the two by their first names, and said something to the effect the Burisma hot shots “need our support.”
The time frame is crucial. This meeting and call for support from Biden came in December 2015. The investigation of Burisma by Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was already underway. In November 2015 Burisma had explicitly pressured Hunter and Archer to use their influence to “close down” the investigation. As the Confidential Source Memo released last week detailed, this criminal investigation stood in the way of Burisma and a lucrative “Initial Public Offering” in the U.S.
Three months later, Biden was in Ukraine and got Shokin fired after threatening to withhold a billion dollars in aid to Ukraine.
Testimony Could Come as Early as Thursday
Archer is facing a year in prison after being convicted with two others of swindling a Native American tribe of $60,000, so he’ll be open to accusations he’s cut a deal to talk. The judge actually granted Archer’s bid for a new trial in 2018, expressing she was “left with an unwavering concern that Archer is innocent of the crimes charged.” But that ruling was overturned last month and the conviction reinstated. Hunter was a VP in the company involved with the tribe investment effort, but was not charged.
Archer remains free pending further appeals. And if Fox News is right, Devon Archer could be testifying as early as Thursday.
Miranda Devine reports a source close to the former Biden business partner says that since word of his Congressional testimony broke, Archer’s been receiving death threats and warnings to “keep your mouth shut.”
Biden Inc. has reason to be rattled. Archer was an insider. A partner, a pal. Not a one-time associate or confidential human source or foreign businessman with an ax to grind. And he is going public.
Biden business associate Tony Bobulinsky once said “The American people don’t fully appreciate yet the key role Joe Biden played in the Biden family global influence peddling … I would equate it to a chairman’s role in a traditional business structure.”
Perhaps Devon Archer, under oath before Congress, will help Americans reach that understanding.
