David Daleiden and the Pro-Choice Inquisition
Daleiden blasphemed against California's state religion, Abortianity.
You’ve probably heard the old, lame feminist quip: “If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.” The line is suitably grim to fit the feminist movement, and it has the added advantage of being false: Men cannot get pregnant and yet abortion is already a sacrament. At least in California, where the state government treats the deadly procedure as sacred, persecuting heretics and hunting down blasphemers with all the fervor of Saudi religious police.
As The Stream reported yesterday, California Attorney General — and Planned Parenthood-funded U.S. Senate candidate — Kamala Harris responded to David Daleiden’s release of yet another damning investigative video about Planned Parenthood by raiding his home and seizing all his personal and professional materials, presumably as the prelude for yet another frivolous prosecution.
“Choice” isn’t really the point. It is merely a smokescreen for the lucrative business of abortion, the incense that rises around the altar of human sacrifice.
Daleiden has already faced trumped-up charges in Houston, where a prosecutor’s office that included a Planned Parenthood fundraiser indicted Daleiden for pretending to want to buy fetal parts, while leaving untouched the clinics that were actually selling these battered fragments of tiny human beings.
No court has determined that Daleiden did anything wrong in producing these undercover videos. There is no “shield law” protecting abortionists from investigative journalism — not yet, anyway. Both of these actions by prosecutors were blatant political attacks designed to silence a member of the media: the legal equivalent of Mizzou Prof. Melissa Click calling in “some muscle” to intimidate campus reporters. Neither the California nor the Houston case is remotely likely to result in Daleiden being convicted of any crime. In fact, both moves were reckless, the kind of abuse of power that gets lawyers disbarred, and prosecutors sanctioned. So what motivated Harris’ commando raid against the private home of a journalist?
We can only surmise that Harris was acting in defense of her religion. Let’s call her cult for convenience, “Abortianity.” (Others have dubbed it the Culture of Death or utilitarian hedonism.) Abortianity’s most powerful defender in California is Jesuit-educated Governor Jerry Brown, and its loudest spokesman is the self-styled Catholic Rep. Nancy Pelosi — who actually tried to show that Abortianity is a natural outgrowth of her faith.
In an infamous public statement that led one of us to ask, “Is Nancy Pelosi a Satanist?”, Pelosi denounced a bill designed to prevent the kind of born-alive butcheries committed by jailed abortionist Kermit Gosnell. She said: “As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this. This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics.” As that article noted:
There have been a number of religions throughout history that relied on human sacrifice, some of them associated with quite advanced civilizations. (Think of Aztec Mexico.) A few of these civilizations have even practiced infant sacrifice, such as Carthage…. More modern religions that practice or advocate such sacrifices include some wings of Satanism. I’m not sure which of these religions Nancy Pelosi practices.
Do Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi really belong to such a cult? In a sense they do. While pro-choicers speak obsessively about defending women’s “choice” (studiously avoiding even using the word “abortion”), in fact they seem to be defending, even championing abortion itself. Why else would they oppose laws mandating ultrasounds — which give women information before they make such a choice?
Why would they wish to quash, threaten or imprison journalists who turn up important facts about the clinics where women are going to exercise that “choice,” such as the fact that these clinics are profiting from the traffic in human organs? That’s something every pregnant woman has the right to know going in, we should think. Unless our goal was not really to serve women’s freedom of choice, but to corral them and influence them, by fraud if need be, into choosing to have abortions.
And that was what was so devastating about Daleiden’s latest video, the one that triggered the SWAT teams who moved in like East German secret police to impound the evidence. As Anika Smith reports, the new video exposes the fraudulent “consent” form Planned Parenthood induces women to sign before it offers them abortions:
The form, which was written and authorized by Planned Parenthood Federation of America and provided to its affiliates, tells pregnant women considering abortion that aborted fetal tissue “has been used to treat and find a cure for such diseases as diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer and AIDS.” No cures for these diseases are currently available, and no current therapies for them use aborted fetal tissue.
Consent is considered legally invalid if misrepresentation (like Planned Parenthood’s) is involved.
So “choice” isn’t really the point. It is merely a smokescreen for the lucrative business of abortion, the incense that rises around the altar of human sacrifice.
No matter. Millions of Americans are willing to wink at this little deception, without which their sex lives might be somewhat cramped. Plenty of our fellow Catholics are happy to join Nancy Pelosi in expanding their faith to welcome this new, eighth Democrat sacrament. How else to explain the decision of America’s landmark Catholic university, Notre Dame, to invite Wendy “Abortion Barbie” Davis to speak on that once-hallowed campus? (Students gave Davis a standing ovation.) Davis, you will remember, made national headlines for filibustering a Texas bill that was written to stop Kermit Gosnell-style atrocities aimed at nearly-newborn fetuses.
As opponents of Scientology have learned at great cost, it can be dangerous to stand in the way of a fervent new religion. Likewise, those who fought the messianic cults of Communism and Nazism had a funny way of turning up dead or in prison. Those who reject militant Islam in our time have had their throats cut in the streets of Amsterdam. So we hope that David Daleiden is careful. He has made some dangerous enemies, who are powerful, ruthless, and utterly without conscience. He deserves the prayers and energetic support of every decent American.
