Dana Perino: To Win Millennials, ‘Conservatives Should Not Cede Any Ground’

By Published on March 7, 2016

If conservatives don’t engage with the huge millennial generation, they will miss an opportunity to shape the future of the nation through those younger voters, Dana Perino, co-host of The Five on Fox News Channel, says.

“There’s like 83 million of them. They’re going to be voting in great numbers in the election,” Perino told me during an on-camera interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, after she moderated a panel discussion on conservative principles and millennials, who range from 18 to 29.

“They went for Barack Obama last time, and … if you vote with a party twice, you’re most likely going to vote with that party for the rest of your life,” Perino,  who was President George W. Bush’s fourth and final press secretary, said. “So conservatives should not cede any ground when there is dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party.”

Watch the interview to find out why she said that — and to meet “flat Jasper.”
