GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chair of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, announced Sunday that the FBI has concluded it will not recommend charges be brought against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, despite renewing it’s investigation.

“Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton,” Comey informed the committee by letter.

Comey announced the FBI had renewed its probe of Clinton’s private email server on Oct. 28, after federal agents investigating disgraced former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner discovered emails on his device, which may or may not be relevant to the Clinton investigation.

The content of those emails remains unclear. NBC News Department of Justice correspondent Pete Williams reports that all were either of a personal nature or duplicates of emails already reviewed by federal investigators.

Weiner is married to senior Clinton aide Huma Abedin, though the pair are in the process of divorcing.

Shortly after the Chaffetz announcement, Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said that the campaign was always confident Comey’s original finding would stand.
