A witness told KTRK, “The whole church started praying and declaring Jesus’ name. I was like, ‘This might be the last time I get to pray, that I get to glorify the name of Jesus, so I’m going to do this.'”
Pastor Osteen told reporters, “There are forces of evil, but the forces that are for us, the forces of God are stronger than that.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement, βOur hearts are with those impacted by todayβs tragic shooting and the entire Lakewood Church community in Houston. Places of worship are sacred.β
The motive for the shooting is unclear as is the childβs relationship to the shooter.
We join the governor, Pastor Osteen in praying for the injured and the Lakewood community.
