A Photo Tour in Celebration of Yosemite National Park’s 125th Anniversary
Yosemite National Park was first established in October of 1890. Although Yellowstone was the first official National Park, this magnificent land in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains wasΒ the first in the U.S. to beΒ set aside specifically for preservation and public use.
InΒ honor of the park’s 125th anniversary and its accomplishments in preservation, here are some images showing offΒ Yosemite’s inspirational splendor.
Such as Thomas Hill, who often painted scenes in Yosemite National Park like this one.
Here is a photo of that same scene today.
The park is beautiful during any season.
And the Merced River is full of life.
Plenty of wildlife have space and freedom to roam the park’s land.
Psalm 145:5
“They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.”
Even through hard times, one can always find beauty in God’s works. Nature is where we find some of the finest paintings, and I am so thankful that places like this are preserved for all to see.
Happy 125th Anniversary, Yosemite National Park.
