Casting Crowns’ Documentary, Home by Sunday Releases to Theaters November 30
The Grammy-winning, multi-Platinum-selling group's lead singer wants to point others to Jesus more than anything else.
“Something happens when you step in over your head and youβre asking God to help you the whole way,” Musical group Casting Crowns’ lead singer, Mark Hall, told The Stream’s Nancy Flory. “Thatβs what I want people to see, because then maybe theyβll step out, too.”
Casting Crowns’ new documentary, Home by Sunday, will release to theaters November 30. The documentary includes video and images of a young Mark Hall as a youth pastor first, then a musical artist second. “When the musical world came to us, I was like, ‘I’m a youth pastor. I want to stay a youth pastor.'” Thus, the name of the film. He always makes it home to be a youth pastor on Sunday. That hasn’t changed.
Hall doesn’t want people to think of Casting Crowns as a cool group of worship singers. He wants them to hear the message that God can use them, too. “I want people to be empowered. I donβt want people to walk away thinking about us at all. Weβre just running our life with you on your race. So, you walking away thinking weβre cool β we blew it. I hope everybody sees [we] are like less than ordinary people and [think] ‘If God can use them he can use me.’ Thatβs the goal.”
