BLM Wields Hitler Fallacy, Vilifies Trump for Promising Law and Order, Safer Neighborhoods

Many of our inner cities are growing more dangerous. Black Lives Matter is calling Donald Trump a fascist for pressing to make them safer.

Several founders of the Black Lives Matter movement denounced Donald Trump’s RNC speech as a dark, fascist moment in American history that put the Republican nominee alongside figures like Adolf Hitler.

Trump’s Thursday night speech dwelt heavily on law and order, as he pledged to champion the American police, to halt a surge in murders in American cities, and to enforce America’s immigration laws.

“Decades of progress made in bringing down crime are now being reversed” by the Obama administration’s “rollback of criminal enforcement,” Trump said. “On January 21st of 2017, the day after I take the oath of office, Americans will finally wake up in a country where the laws of the United States are enforced.”

That rhetoric, according to Black Lives Matter, puts Trump in the company of Hitler, Benito Mussolini and other fascist dictators.

“The terrifying vision that Donald J. Trump is putting forward casts him alongside some of the worst fascists in history,” Alicia Garza said in a statement sent to The Daily Caller News Foundation. Garza, an Oakland-based activist, helped co-found Black Lives Matter in 2013 after George Zimmerman was acquitted of murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

By pledging to protect police, Garza said Trump was actually promoting police terrorism against black people.

“While our movement envisions a bright future where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, Trump is proposing a new, dark age where police have carte blanche authority to terrorize our communities,” she said. “Whether it was Richard Nixon unleashing a war on drugs or George Wallace’s more overt war on Black people, we’ve heard it all before and won’t be fooled again.”

Patrisse Cullors, another Black Lives Matter co-founder, also described Trump overtly as a terrorist.

“The terrorist on our televisions tonight was Donald Trump,” said Cullors. “He pledged to fight for Americans, while threatening the vast majority of this country with imprisonment, deportation and a culture of abject fear. His doublespeak belies his true nature: a charlatan who will embolden racists and destroy communities of color. He is a disgrace. White people of conscience must forcefully reject this hatred immediately.”
