Biden’s New Counter-Terrorism Strategy: A Lying, Dog-faced, Pony Soldier of a Document
On June 15 the Biden Administration released its “National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism.” Thereby, once again, proving Ronald Reagan right. No one could be ignorant enough to write such a document. Only those who “know” so much that isn’t so could.
Bush, Obama and Trump: Far More Realistic About Terrorism
These agendas go back to President George W. Bush. His administration put out the first “National Strategy for Combating Terrorism” in 2003. Of course it focused on al-Qaeda but was careful not to mention — much less indict — Islamic terrorism. President Obama’s folks disseminated his in 2011. And then President Trump’s came out seven years later. Those from Obama and Trump had their faults. Obama’s refused to admit Islam had anything to do with all the groups waging jihad. Trump’s fell overboard in “fairness,” warning against the likes of the Nordic Resistance Movement as well as ISIS. But they were at least both rooted in reality. Biden’s is simply delusional.
Biden’s NSCDT isn’t a serious strategy for countering terrorism. It’s one long libel of conservatives in general, and of white ones in particular.
Biden: Ignoring Real Violent Terrorism
Now, to be fair, Biden’s focuses on domestic terrorism. Which right away is a problem. If domestic terrorism is an issue, there is good reason to focus on Antifa and even BLM. The former was warning it would use violence back in 2017, and has been doing so in Portland for over a year. BLM protests were claimed to have been “mostly peaceful.” Still, almost 600 of them were the opposite. And then there’s Jama’at al-Fuqra. This Islamic group from Pakistan has been infiltrating here for 20 years. They have dozen of compounds, in which JF’s several thousand mostly-Black US members have stockpiled weapons. The prestigious Combating Terrorism Center at West Point calls JF “a high risk for US security.” But not according to the Biden Administration.
Biden: Ginning Up a Threat
No, according to his NSCDT, the “most persistent and lethal threat” to America consists of “those who promote the superiority of the white race.” What statistics are mustered to support this? Zero, zip, nada. The only “white supremacist” group adduced is the KKK — which even the Southern Poverty Law Center admits is a pale shadow of its former self. Other examples of alleged right-wing white terrorism in this report? The black man who shot Dallas cops, and the Bernie Sanders supporter who opened fire on Congressman Steve Scalise and other GOP baseball team members.
Biden’s NSCDT warns about proponents of “single-issue ideologies,” such as abortion and animal rights. But in 28 years, there have been 10 abortion providers or staff killed. That’s 10 too many, but any given weekend’s death toll in Chicago is greater. And some years ago the FBI called animal rights/eco-terrorism, with over 2,000 attacks (mostly on property) since 1979, one of this nation’s greatest terrorist threats.
Defining “Domestic Terrorism” as Political Opposition
Biden’s agitprop states that “the definition of ‘domestic terrorism’ in our law makes not distinction based on political views.” Then it proceeds to do exactly that. The federal government must work to “prevent individuals from being drawn into the grip of domestic terrorism.” How? By “reducing the supply and demand of recruitment materials.” But none are ever specified. Presumably said materials would include “Don’t Tread On Me” flags. And probably The Federalist Papers. You know, the white supremacist thing.
More Funding — to Find False Threats
The Department of Homeland Security should “enhance media literacy and critical thinking skills.” This so that Americans can “resist disinformation.” Pot, meet kettle. Hopefully, some biology classes will allow a proper count of genders.
Also, the Department of Defense will work on rooting out problematic thinking. Well, the Pentagon was already hard at work convincing white soldiers, sailors, Marines and Air Force members that they’re racist. And now the white Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is trying to understand “white rage.” All this will no doubt prepare our troops for conflict with China. Or more melanin-rich Muslim terrorists.
And look: more FBI funding. For what? “Analysts, investigators, and prosecutors,” to include “enhanced training on domestic terrorism iconography, symbology and phraseology.” If only that included Arabic classes. As well as on pull rope recognition. Rather than eye tests with only one letter: Q.
Actual Data Belies Biden’s Agenda
The biggest lie in this thoroughly dishonest document? “Individuals subscribing to violent ideologies such as violent white supremacy … as well as anti-government ideologies, are responsible for a substantial portion of today’s domestic terrorism.” Only if by substantial you mean “modest.” Look at the data I’ve adduced in previous Stream articles (here, here, and here). Among the highlights:
- 78% of global terrorist groups are Muslim; none are white supremacist.
- 92% of folks on the FBI’s most-wanted listed are Muslim.
- There are exactly two active white supremacist groups in America: the KKK (active mainly in retirement centers and in liberals’ fevered imaginations), and the Atomwaffen Division (which did kill someone in 2017).
- Globally, jihadists’ death toll is well north of 21,000. White supremacists? 346.
- Since 9/11, Muslim-American terrorists IN the US have killed 176 people. Verified white supremacists have killed 51. (Why add “verified”? Because the Left, especially the media, likes to label any violence by a white person as “supremacist.” For example, the sex-crazed Atlanta area shooter.)
Goodbye, Thomas Jefferson
There will be “no governmental tolerance … of violence as an acceptable mode of seeking political or social change.” Well, unless you belong to Antifa or BLM, it seems. Plus, that runs afoul of Thomas Jefferson’s famous saying. You know, the thing. That “the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Even if we lack F-15s or nukes.
Pure Bad-faith Politics
Biden’s NSCDT isn’t a serious strategy for countering terrorism. It’s one long libel of conservatives in general, and of white ones in particular. Its major purpose appears to be ex post facto rationalization of the racism smear levied against President Trump and those of us who voted for him. And, on the flip side, an attempt to exploit the January 6 protests to expand government power even more. While carrying water for Antifa and BLM.
Who’s the lying dog-faced pony soldier now?
Timothy Furnish holds a Ph.D. in Islamic, World and African history from Ohio State University and a M.A. in Theology from Concordia Seminary. He is a former U.S. Army Arabic linguist and, later, civilian consultant to U.S. Special Operations Command. He’s the author of books on the Middle East and Middle-earth, a history professor and sometime media opiner (as, for example, on Fox News Channel’s War Stories: Fighting ISIS).
