Al’s Afternoon Tea: How Is Joe? and the Coups That Commies Do

Welcome back in for Al’s Afternoon Tea, our chance to sample the latest news and catch our breath. We begin with a mystery: Is Joe Biden seriously ill, as his brother suggested, or was he pushed off the presidential ticket in a de facto coup?

No-Show Joe: Is President in Worse Shape Than Left Is Letting On?

We have not had a glimpse of Joe Biden since the White House announced last week that he had COVID. That’s when he raced back to Delaware from Nevada and the Secret Service practically had to lift him into his limo.

Biden dropped out of the presidential race Sunday, not with a video announcement, but with a statement. As mentioned below, the American people deserve to have him tell us face-to-face what’s going on. (Does he even know what’s going on?) Yes, it’s true that historically, Biden has always acted as if he doesn’t need to explain himself to the public — but this smells different.

Last night, Biden’s brother Frank told CBS News that in his ”humble opinion,” the president’s health “absolutely” contributed to his decision to drop out. Then he added an ominous line: ‘Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time he has left.”  Now he could mean “come January 20.” But that certainly suggests the President of the United States is very ill, perhaps even dying.

A family source pushed back in a suspiciously nasty way: “Frank Biden suffers from alcoholism and hasn’t spoken to his brother in weeks,” the source told CBS News. “What he said … is completely untrue.”

Why add the bit about alcoholism? Especially given how many members of the Biden family struggle with substance abuse issues. Hunter suffers from drug addictions, and he was sitting in White House meetings and inking multimillion dollar deals with our adversaries on his father’s behalf; daughter Ashley has been to rehab for sex addiction. It would have been easy enough for the source to say, “Frank hasn’t spoken to his brother in weeks, so he was not party to the political decision to leave the race. The president himself is now looking forward to spending more time with his family once he leaves office in January.”

Despite the denial, I do believe we need to be praying even more for Joe Biden’s health. I could be wrong, but I suspect he is suffering from something not yet reported — and his handlers want to keep a lid on it until a time of their choosing, to the point of trashing the president’s own kin for talking out of turn.

Otherwise we’re supposed to believe the proud, stubborn Joe Biden suddenly dropped his presidential bid, willingly undermined the entire primary process, and dismissed fourteen million Democratic voters just because of bad polls and pressure from Democratic elites.

That would mean Joe Biden was forced out, in effect, by a coup.

That’s What Commies Do

Their grip on power was slipping. The old leader was slowing down. And while he was off on vacation, the party apparatchiks maneuvered to remove him from office.

I’m not talking about Joe Biden. I’m talking about the fate of former Soviet Union Premier Nikita Khrushchev. Jack Posobiec reminded us of the story.

Because that’s what Communists do. In Biden’s case, the leftist power brokers in unison, starting with Barack Obama, declared Biden to be a “patriot” for bowing to their will.

There was nothing patriotic about what Biden did. Patriots do not surrender to those who wanted to overrule the will of the people and reject free and fair elections. Is it truly patriotic to show our enemies that you will back down if the heat is great enough? God protect us from the heat coming in the months ahead.

Is it honorable to have your campaign surrogates running around as late as yesterday morning, insisting you were staying in the race? To keep your campaign workers in the dark? They had to find out you were finished by reading your post on X? Is it honorable to release a statement and not tell the American people face to face why specifically you are dropping out?

His doctors said Sunday Biden is “performing all his presidential duties” and his “symptoms have improved significantly.” So why was there no video statement?

There is nothing patriotic or honorable about any of this because Joe Biden remains president — incapacitated, with facilities diminishing by the week, clinging to the Resolute Desk as the nation sinks beneath the waves.

On to the Next Puppet: Kamala Harris

Biden’s string-pullers were quick to move on to their next puppet.

To make sure nothing stands in their way, the DNC is expected to put Harris’s name in nomination on August 1, more than two weeks before the convention begins.

There will be no competition. Newsom and Whitcomb say they won’t challenge Harris. Even West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who teased jumping into the race, says he’s not going to compete against her. Therefore, the convention will be just a coronation. 

Harris immediately filed the paperwork for her presidential campaign. She couldn’t get to hot spots on the border in nearly four years, but she could get to the Federal Election Commission right quick.

And amazingly, FEC officials were working on a Sunday to sign off on that paperwork.

Sorry, Kamala, You Are Burdened by the Past

While Harris tends to be defined by her random cackling and astonishing word salads, we must not forget for a moment that she is a hardcore radical, a “progressive” in the most destructive sense of the word. A woman who as California’s attorney general sought to imprison David Daleiden for exposing Planned Parenthood’s baby-part selling operation and who as a vice presidential candidate sought to spring violent George Floyd rioters from jail. God help the country if she ever gets control over the entire  justice system.

Let’s roll through some of Kamala’s other greatest hits.

  • Making up stories, just like her boss.

  • Fully embracing the LGBTQ+ preferred-pronoun radicalism. 

  • Bailing out the thugs who destroyed Minneapolis. 

  • Finding it offensive, while serving as a border czar, to call illegal aliens “illegal aliens.” 

  • Advocating racism in the name of “equity” in the wake of natural disasters.

Let’s also not forget her anti-Catholic bigotry, most notably her effort to block a judicial nominee simply because he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Expect to hear more on this in the weeks to come.

Personally, I go back to the wee hours on a blistery cold Chicago night, and one of the most poorly staged scenes the Windy City has ever seen. 

My Personal Disqualifier: She Supported Jussie Smollett Hoax

Can someone who believed the Jussie Smollett hoax be trusted to be president?

Either Harris helped perpetuate an insidious hate hoax, which is vile, or she bought what Smollett was selling, which is moronic.  

Both scenarios make her totally unfit to be president.

She Peddled the Lie That Joe Biden Was Fit as a Fiddle

Kamala Harris is guilty of conspiring to con the American people. For weeks, she has been insisting that Joe Biden is fit and well, sharp as a tack. That we know is a blatant lie. Given the dangers inherent in that lie — America not having a commander-in-chief who is in command of his faculties — letting someone who was so quick and willing to lie to the American public anywhere near the Oval Office is unconscionable.
