Al’s Afternoon Tea: Campus Protesters Fight While Joe Biden Stays Out of Sight

The water’s boiling for Al’s Afternoon Tea … and so are some of the nation’s campuses.

LAPD Riot Police Move in as UCLA Anti-Israel Protests Clash With Counterprotesters

β€œNever again.” Watching history repeating itself with rabid antisemitism, complete with restricted movements and outright assaults, Jewish students and supporters were bound to say, β€œEnough” eventually.

Last night, a group of about 100 pro-Israel counterdemonstrators confronted the anti-Israel mob at UCLA. The confrontation turned violent. Inexplicably, the clash was allowed to continue for three hours before leftist L.A. Mayor Karen Bass ordered the LAPD in to restore order.

Yesterday, a clip went viral of a counterprotester at UCLA being set upon by members of the mob, one of whom brandished a taser.

KNX reported campus police eventually took the woman away, but it’s unclear whether she will be charged.

This one reportedly shows a Jewish girl being beaten unconscious. You hear someone shouting, “Where’s the police? Where’s the police?”

Meanwhile, a new wrinkle to the nationwide protests has emerged: tearing down the American flag and replacing it with the Palestinian flag. This happened at Harvard. and at the University of North Carolina Tuesday. Of course it also happened at Columbia.

Journalist Ami Horiwitz showed up at Columbia with an American flag. He was immediately assaulted and the flag taken.

These Are Not Sharp People

I imagine at one point their lives some of the anti-Israel student protesters were actually smart kids — some of the best and brightest. However, an elite university education at $90 grand a year has turned their brains to hummus.

Check out this exchange, where a protester declares to Fox News’ Lawrence Jones that factual statements are a β€œfalse narrative.”

Our little revolutionary would say calling the sky blue is a β€œfalse narrative.” On the plus side, she sounds like a perfect fit for the mainstream media. After all, who’s been trying to convince you in so many ways that what is up is down, what is down is up, and even the existence of two sexes is a β€œfalse narrative”?

Here’s another epic moment, where a reporter catches a spokesperson in a hysterical contradiction. The student protester requested the school administrators provide β€œhumanitarian aid” to the occupiers to ward off starvation. To which the reporter replies, “It seems like you’re saying, ‘We want to be revolutionaries, we want to take over this building, now would you please bring us some food.'”

The scary part? Woke campus administrators have long been catering to these students.

As we reported on The Brew this morning, Columbia didn’t send in food. They sent in the NYPD, which retook Harrison Hall from the protesters and cleared out the massive β€œGaza Camp.” Police say some 300 people were arrested.

β€œGood!” shouts America, collectively. A new Rasmussen poll shows β€œ71% of voters favor arresting Pro-Palestinian protesters who occupy buildings. If schools can’t/won’t protect Jewish students, 65% favor sending in national guard to do so.”

These Are Dangerous People

They may not be the brightest bulbs in the box, but they are as dangerous as broken LED bulbs. And who’s done the breaking? Point one finger at faculty. An X account called β€œDocumenting Jew Hatred on Campus” says more than 50 faculty members have taken part in the protester takeover of Columbia. They are analyzing video to identify and publish the identities of every single one.

What’s the saying? β€œPublish or perish”?

Where Have You Gone, Joe Biden?

Meanwhile, where’s the president of the United States as college campuses are turning to war zones? He can appear on the Howard Stern Show, do schtick at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and shuffle across the White House lawn accompanied by groups of people. But why is he not out there publicly and forcefully addressing the organized anti-Jewish chaos on our campuses? We know these are his voters and they’re backed by his peeps like George Soros, but still.

We asked a few months ago at what point would Biden throw Jews under the bus to protect his Muslim vote in Michigan and Minnesota. It seems we are at that point. His silence is deafening.

Apparently, crafting fancy videos for his reelection campaign is more important than peaceful campuses and the civil rights of Jewish students.

Yesterday, Biden held a three-hour campaign event at a high school in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. Or at least that’s what his campaign said he was doing. Perfect time, you’d think, to speak up, warn students of the dangers of hate. We don’t know what he said or did. Was the hair of high school girls safe from sniffing? We’ll never know. The event was closed to the press.

Or is something else going on? What in world is Joe Biden doing campaigning in Delaware? He won the state in 2020 over Trump 59% to 40%. Is Delaware really in play?

Turns out, according to the Daily Mail, he was shooting some sort of snazzy campaign video. But nothing organic. The newspaper reports there were no signs of large crowds for Mr. 81-Million Votes. They spoke to one woman who said, β€œI’m just an extra.” Asked if she held a sign, she said, no. β€œI play by the rules.” Guess they can CGI in enthusiastic supporters in post-production.

Finally, the First Al’s Afternoon Tea Golden Scone Goes to Our Own Jay Richards

Last evening, Stream cofounder Jay Richards mic-dropped Kamala Harris on X. It’s a thing of beauty.
