A New Holiday That’s Not Demonic: Adult Appreciation Week
Maybe the White House should try promoting this celebration.
In light of the White House urging all Americans to celebrate its third annual Transgender Day of Visibility, the Ruth Institute has discerned the need for Adult Appreciation Week, set to take place April 3-9.
“’Transgender’ people are not the only ones who need and deserve ‘visibility,’” said President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse.
Therefore, the group will officially honor adults who:
- put their own interests aside for the common good.
- take responsibility for their mistakes.
- support their families, even by doing unpleasant jobs.
- tell the truth, even when it’s inconvenient.
- are in command of themselves, their impulses, and their egos.
- wouldn’t dream of cheating others out of their justly earned rewards.
- do not knowingly mislead children.
- protect children’s innocence.
- present children with models of self-command, truthfulness, and fair play.
- help children aspire to and lead responsible lives.
- face discrimination and ridicule for living up to their adult duties of protecting the weak, vulnerable, and innocent.
- face the loss of their jobs rather than cooperate with evil.
“In short, we honor adults who meet their responsibilities in the face of criticism, without complaint, and without the need for constant attention or affirmation,” Morse said. “We invite all people of goodwill to join us in celebrating the unsung heroes of American life, the servant leaders, parents, grandparents, the young, the old, all honest citizens who live up to the responsibilities appropriate to their age and station in life.”
The Ruth Institute’s Facebook page has an “Adult Appreciation Week” badge with which people can tag their favorite adults who live according to the ideals outlined above.
International Women’s Day (March 8) Is Not What You Think
Dr. Paul Kengor, Ph.D., is a political science professor at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania, and a New York Times bestselling author. Among his 20-plus books are works on Communism. So he knows better than most about the roots of International Women’s Day.
“International Women’s Day was about getting women out of the home, away from kids, into factories and farms, and celebrating the woman worker,” Kengor explains. “This is a socialist holiday, and that is beyond any dispute.
“Part of what they wanted to do was liberate women from the home.”
Kengor quotes The Communist Manifesto, which says, “We will destroy the hallowed relation between parent and child when we eradicate home education and replace it with public education.”
“Childcare was supposed to become a full-time public government industry run by government nursemaids,” he explains.
The Bolsheviks sought to eradicate all religion, all homeschooling, and all religious education.
Planet Fitness Goes Woke and Pays the Price
In mid-March, Planet Fitness canceled the membership of a woman in Alaska named Patricia Silva when she protested a man shaving in the women’s bathroom. After Silva went public about her experience, Planet Fitness’s stock dropped by roughly 15% in 12 days.
“I’m sorry for what happened to Silva, but grateful she spoke up about it,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse. “Because of her story, people reacted. Striking at a company’s revenue is an effective way to promote sanity and hopefully enact change.
“This situation also demonstrates why ideology needs to stop trumping reality,” Morse noted.
Silva wrote on social media: “Planet Fitness is defending the man in the women’s locker room, the man with a penis, rather than the child sitting in the corner with a towel wrapped around her … The little girl was freaked out that the man was there.”
Morse said that’s reprehensible. “Men who pretend to be women should not be defended over the safety and comfort of children,” she said. “Two years ago, this would have been obvious to the entire world, and that man would have been removed by security at the very least. Now anyone who claims an identity other than the one they were born with makes everyone bow to their every whim.”

A Planet Fitness spokesman said, “As the home of the Judgement Free Zone, Planet Fitness is committed to creating an inclusive environment … Our gender identity nondiscrimination policy states that members and guests may use the gym facilities that best align with their sincere, self-reported gender identity.”
That’s code, Morse said, for, “If you’re a child or a parent who doesn’t want your child traumatized or possibly abused by a grown man in your female-only space, too bad. We don’t care about you.”
“Now men can expose themselves to children, and not only get away with it, but be championed. We need to stop sacrificing children for adults’ desires,” she said. “Normal, decent people need to make a fuss. If we stay silent, they win. We can’t stop pushing back. Nothing will change until more of us complain. Don’t be afraid to make noise.”
