A Leftist New York Times Writer’s New Book About Washington Books Ignores the Most Washington of Washington Books … My Own

Carlos Lozada needs to fix his forthcoming book. It’s called The Washington Book: How to Read Politics and Politicians. It is due for release February 20, 2024.

Lozada is missing something obvious in his book: the story of what happened to me and Brett Kavanaugh. To leave that out of The Washington Book is bad journalism, not that there’s much else other than bad journalism theses days. Lozada ignores The Devil’s Triangle, a Washington book written by a Washingtonian about one of the most explosive political events in Washington history.

The idea behind Lozada’s The Washington Book (I secured an early copy) is that Lozada, a reporter for the New York Times who previously spent almost two decades at the Washington Post, reads all the books and other documents about Washington. These are political memoirs, government documents, Supreme Court decisions.

He Read Everything That Fit His Slant

Carlos prides himself on absorbing it all: “I read histories and manifestos,” he writes. “I peruse centuries-old essays and decades old commission reports. I scour Supreme Court decisions and the text of the latest congressional investigations. I read many books about American politics l, and, I must confess, I also read books by politicians and government officials.” Lozada reads campaign biographies, “revisionist memoirs,” the “tell-all books by mid-level administration staffers,” and books by “presidents, vice presidents, senators, chiefs of staff and FBI directors.” If it had anything to do with D.C., Carlos reads it.

Except when it’s The Devil’s Triangle. That’s the 2022 book I wrote about the nightmare I lived during the 2018 nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Readers of The Stream have followed my articles about the subject for several years. The editors of the site have been very generous in giving me a platform. Without them, The Devil’s Triangle would not have been written.

What I describe in my book is crucially important. The left tried extortion, witness tampering, a honey trap and death threats go try and vaporize me and Kavanaugh. They will do it again … to anyone, even you, the person reading this. As journalist Brit Hume put it, “this never should have happened in America.”

To the Memory Hole, Go!

So where’s The Devil’s Triangle in Lozada’s The Washington Book? Ignored, the way the media always ignores books by conservatives and Christians. As Chris Plante once put it, the media’s greatest power is the power to ignore. Lozada mentions books about the Supreme Court like The Brethren and Nine Black Robes. He explores the documents involving Roe v. Wade and the Dobbs decision that overruled it. No Kavanaugh, no Dobbs. Need I say more?

Of course I’m advocating for my own personal cause … and want some comeuppance for the Stasi left that tried to ruin me. Yet even an objective look at the facts reveals that Lozada’s book ignoring the Blasey Ford hit job is like writing a history of the Catholic Church that leaves out the Jesuits.

There’s Still Time for Some Last Minute Edits

My grandfather arrived in Washington, D.C. in 1915 to play professional baseball for the Washington Nationals. His son, my father, spent a career at National Geographic, a Washington institution. My brother Michael won the Helen Hayes Award for the Best Actor in Washington. The British Spectator, in describing me and Washington, called me “the city incarnate.” I went to Catholic University in D.C, fell in love in the city, worked in the restaurants and bars and shops here and in 2018 was drafted into becoming pivotal figure in a Washington drama that changed the course of American history. I then write a book that is part memoir about me and the city and part expose on the politics corruption of the left.

Carlos Lozada has eight weeks until his book is released. If he doesn’t add me to it, if he doesn’t show some small honor and confront what the left, especially his fellow journalists, did to this Washingtonian who then wrote a Washington-based book about it, then Washington Book deserves to go straight to the pulp mill.
