A Call to Celebrate Unity: June 6th is Harmony Day
Churches are invited to orchestrate an event to celebrate and promote unity.

Businessman and philanthropist Foster Friess has called for pastors and civic leaders to organize events to celebrate and promote unity on Saturday, June 6. Friess is calling it “Harmony Day.”
Friess is specifically asking leaders to go out of their way to include participants of diverse races, as well as law enforcement. He wants communities to put together a rally, march or BBQ — an event that will promote unity.

Pastors and civic leaders can register their event online at HarmonyDay.org. “This event can be a rally/march or even an event at the church — again it’s all about unity, community,” the website states. Leaders are invited to send receipts for any costs to be reimbursed up to $1,000. Pastors and civic leaders can list their event on the website in a searchable format.
“We reject hate and violence and efforts to divide Americans along race,” the website states. “Saturday, June 6th, we celebrate the harmony that exists and promote its expansion.”
In 2017, Friess organized a “Return to Civility,” where he asked people to take someone who held different beliefs to have coffee and chat. “When you get to get to know someone on a personal basis, it’s very hard to be angry and mean,” he told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson ahead of his coffee date with politician Maria Chappelle Nadal. “And we have to be more careful about throwing this word ‘hate’ around. Let love trump hate, so to speak.”
