Acts of violence and intolerance committed by Muslim migrants to Europe are so common that headlines aren’t sufficient. Major news sites would do better to install a “Muslim Atrocities” ticker, which offers updates on a minute-to-minute basis. By the time we had processed the various attacks — successful or thwarted — on Christmas festivities across the continent, we learned on December 27 that 34 Muslim migrants to Denmark who left the country to go fight for ISIS are still receiving unemployment benefits from Danish taxpayers. What new fruits of our exciting encounter with the Other will tomorrow’s headlines report?

You might expect that Christian religious leaders in Europe would respond to the unprecedented onslaught of an intolerant alien faith with a balance of justice and mercy, looking first to the safety and freedom of their embattled fellow citizens — many of whose countries were brutally occupied by a previous wave of Jew-hating totalitarians during the Second World War.  But you would be wrong. The new, post-Christian creed of multiculturalism is displacing Christianity in many churches, including my own.

Too many high-level Catholic leaders are ignoring the church’s official teaching on immigration. That teaching, which even binds the pope, is codified in the official Catechism of the Catholic Church, and it reads more like the 2016 GOP platform on the subject than it does like anything Pope Francis or most U.S. bishops say on the subject. Instead of the sober and balanced statement approved by St. John Paul II, Catholics are subjected to sentimental jeremiads that equate worried Westerners with murderers like Cain and King Herod. The pan-European Muslim crime wave, and the crippling costs of supporting “refugees” may be breaking down ideological filters with the battering ram of reality: Europe is being colonized as North America was once.

Vienna Besieged Again

Now Christoph Schönborn, the Austrian cardinal who actually edited that Catechism, is weighing in on the subject. His homeland is on the front lines of what is clearly an orchestrated attempt to colonize Western Europe with young, fervent Muslims of military age. According to The Express (U.K.):

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn said he had come to “rethink” his stance on the migrant crisis during a special Christmas TV discussion programme with Protestant Bishop Michael Bünker.

The Cardinal, who is tipped as a possible future leader of the Roman Catholic church, said he was no longer convinced that Europe should accept all arrivals.

He said that it was better to concentrate on providing support to the nations in Africa and the East, hoping that migrants “could live in their homeland again.”

A recent incident in Austria might have provoked the cardinal’s remarks. On December 21, The Express reported that a

Somali asylum seeker suddenly leapt on stage during the traditional depiction of the Christian story in the Austrian town of Oberndorf near Schwanenstadt … and stood next to the stage where children of nursery school age were performing. The asylum seeker … took out a copy of the Koran from his rucksack and started preaching.

The 24-year-old, who was wearing a white robe, was eventually overpowered by a number of men, including two brothers, while he was shouting “Allahu Akbar”.

Schönborn had expressed concern about mass immigration into Europe in the past:

In his homily at St Stephen’s Cathedral on September 11 he said: “Will there be a third Islamic attempt to conquer Europe? Many Muslims think this and wish this and say that Europe is at its end.”

Cardinal Schönborn later clarified: “Europe’s Christian legacy is in danger, because we Europeans have squandered it. That has absolutely nothing to do with Islam nor with the refugees. It is clear that many Islamists would like to take advantage of our weakness, but they are not responsible for it. We are.”

Schönborn is not seen as a “right-wing” Catholic. Indeed, he has sided with Pope Francis in the recent, bitter split among Catholics over Francis’ apparent attempt to revise Catholic teaching on divorce and remarriage. But the pan-European Muslim crime wave, and the crippling costs of supporting “refugees” who passed through “safe countries” such as Turkey to resettle on European social welfare, may be breaking down ideological filters with the battering ram of reality: Europe is being colonized as North America was once. How will the natives react?

Will Christians Resist, or Go Peacefully to the Reservations?

Just as the governments of Britain, France, and Spain once actively encouraged the resettlement of North America, today’s colonization is being orchestrated by Islamist Sunni regimes in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, to carry out a classic Islamic strategy of conquest. As The Stream noted in May 2016:

Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi, chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and — thanks to the internet—one of the most influential Muslim scholars in the world, [has spoken] on the duty of Muslims to emigrate to Western nations and outbreed the natives, so as to conquer those countries without firing a shot:

“Islam will return to Europe. Islam entered Europe twice and left it. … Perhaps the next conquest, Allah willing, will be by means of preaching and ideology. The conquest need not necessarily be by the sword. … [The conquest of Mecca] was not by the sword or by war, but by a [Hudabiyya] treaty, and by peace. … Perhaps we will conquer these lands without armies.”

The Center for Security Policy confirms that such a strategy is already in effect around the world, including the United States: “As practiced today, the hijra strategy is an important part of a covert, pre-violent ‘civilization jihad’ pursued by the Muslim Brotherhood. The UN High Commission on Refugees — which, like the rest of the United Nations, is dominated by the dictates of the Islamic supremacist organization known as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) – is complicit in the process of bringing Muslim refugees to America. Interestingly, no Muslim refugees are ever resettled in wealthy, low-population density Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia.”

[M]odern mass immigration, in an age of democracy and welfare states, is something almost unprecedented in human history. It is our assumption today that newcomers to a country — or at least their children — will gain full citizenship and the right to vote. They will also gain, almost immediately, access to generous social welfare programs that citizens of our countries created to help the least fortunate members of our own community — descendants of slaves, of war veterans, of hard-working citizens, who today have fallen down on their luck.

If an immigrant group grows large enough, it can even use the state to confiscate the wealth of native-born citizens, and restrict their religious liberty, through purely democratic methods. What does all this mean? That large immigrant groups organized in cohesive political movements today can enjoy most of the spoils that in past centuries would have come to a conquering army. What else does an armed invader seek but control over the government and wealth of a country?
